ABOUT PHILORINO

FRENCH CRAFTSMANSHIP WANDERER SPIRIT

Luz and Stevane have always been deeply convinced that fulfillment in the artistic journey not only comes from the fertility of one’s inner imaginary but also from our ability to capture the world’s richness and diversity.

Further than sourcing their inspiration within different cultures and artistic spheres, the creators themselves travel to find the unique gemstones they use into their pieces. This personal engagement at every step of the whole process clearly hints at their effort to create unique pieces.

EMPHASIS ON UNICITY

Both of them always try to reflect on the importance of authentic feelings. In particular when it comes to sensitivity to what is beautiful.

“ Choosing a jewel is like being struck by lightning. Jewels can be considered lovers since they compose a sort of harem you live with, show off with, and develop jealousy towards. That’s why Philorino comes from the Italian say filarino, meaning a naive flame.”

Each of their jewels is created by hand using ancient techniques of finest jewelry. They embody the achievement of a long creative journey, through dozens or hundreds of hours of labour. Every one of their pieces is thus charged with a certain energy, radiating towards the world through you.

A LOVING SYNERGY

While Luz sculpts wax, Stevane shapes metal and sets stones. The process of creating a piece of jewelry involves such an amount of steps that their complementarity is key to their success.

“ The first stepping stone to creating a new jewel is most of the time a spontaneous idea one of us gets from daydreaming. When it occurs we immediately share it to each other in order for it to settle in the real world. Luz draws the jewel, and we choose the material together. During the making of the object, we consult each other at key stages. But basically Luz initiates the production by creating the ring body. Once it’s casted, Stevane solders the different pieces and sets the stones. At last we choose a name for the jewel and imagine its legend…”
